March is set to be a super-busy month in our household, so before things get too crazy I thought I’d take the time to sit and reflect on what’s been making me smile at the start of this month…
Wagga Wagga to Worcestershire & back again
Last year I started noting down every season a few things that were making me smile. Most of the time they were little observations, kind acts or simple pleasures to do with that time of the year. I loved writing those blog posts and found the act of sitting and writing about these little things really cathartic. It was such a good reminder, that even during what feels like a standard week/month there are moments of magic in the ever day.
So in 2019, I’m upping the ante. Every month I’m going to stop and reflect on what’s making me smile, starting with January…
Perhaps it’s the warmer sunny days, the clean sheets I snuggled into last night or the fact I’ve got a three day weekend coming up, but life’s felt really cheery this week.
Every few months I like to take some time out to reflect upon the little things that make me smile (here’s my musings from July and February), so to mark the start of spring, I thought I’d share my current daily delights with you…
It’s been a very quiet couple of days in our household, on account of a long working week for me (I’m on day seven and cannot wait for the weekend!) and some troublesome, emerging wisdom teeth for Adam.
When the monotony of the work-eat-sleep schedule gets me down I try really hard to be aware of all the ‘little things’ in my life that bring me joy every single day. It’s a nice way to take stock and remember, that there is beauty and wonder all around us.
So, here are three things making me smile this week…
Sometimes you just have ‘one of those weeks’. For me, nothing bad has really happened, it’s just been a long week (literally – I’m on my seventh working day straight!) and I’ve had a challenging story taking up much of my time at work.
It’s left me feeling a little weighed down, but instead of getting angry or upset I’m trying to switch off outside of work hours to find the joy in everyday moments…
