Hello!
I’m Melinda, the author of Wattle and Ash.
One day, unbeknown to me, I was set up on a blind date with an Englishman called Adam at a dusty race meet in western New South Wales, Australia. We fell in love and agreed we wanted to spend the rest of our lives together. After a year of living in my hometown of Wagga Wagga, we moved to Adam’s home county of Worcestershire to try out life in the United Kingdom, and a little over year later we found ourselves back in Australia. We love life in both countries and the dream is to split our year between the two places.
In September 2019 we became a family of three, welcoming a son Paul.
This blog is about having homes, friends and family in two hemispheres; about travel, food, style, everyday moments, navigating motherhood, and appreciating the small things in life.
In the real world I work as a journalist with the Australian Broadcasting Corporation, where I get to tell the stories of regional Australia on the radio, online and on television.
