I’m Melinda Hayter, the author of Wattle and Ash.
One day, unbeknown to me, I was set up on a blind date with an Englishman called Adam at a dusty race meet in western New South Wales, Australia. We fell in love and agreed we wanted to spend the rest of our lives together. After a year of living in my hometown of Wagga Wagga, we moved to Adam’s home county of Worcestershire to try out life in the United Kingdom, then a year later we found ourselves back to Australia.
This blog is about having homes, friends and family in two hemispheres; about travel, the everyday, and appreciating the small things in life.
In the real world I work as a journalist with the Australian Broadcasting Corporation, where I get to tell the stories of regional Australia on the radio, online and on television.
