Wagga Wagga to Worcestershire & back again
The other week Adam and I took a drive south to Albury, on the New South Wales / Victorian border. Our purpose was to scout out a baby superstore to start to get our heads around just what we’ll need when our little person arrives in September.
It turned into though, the most wonderful day out – complete with a picnic dinner on the banks of the Murray River…
For a couple of months now, Adam and I have had a little secret. It’s been difficult to keep it to ourselves, but we’re in a place now where we’re comfortable to share our news…
It’s been a long and busy week, filled with nights away from home and day-trips. I did manage to sneak in a few quiet moments though.

When I first started reading blogs many years ago, I quickly came to love the weekly or monthly ‘link lists’ many sites featured. I enjoyed having a go-to-guide of articles, quizzes, pictures or recommendations to peruse and I often learnt something new, had my mind opened to a different perspective or was challenged by what was before me.

March is set to be a super-busy month in our household, so before things get too crazy I thought I’d take the time to sit and reflect on what’s been making me smile at the start of this month…
The other weekend I was invited to a housewarming, birthday party and farewell gathering all rolled into one. We weren’t having a proper sit down meal, rather a selection of small bites, with each guest asked to contribute something.
Knowing the fail safe cheese board was probably taken care of, I decided to take a flick through one of my most reliable cookbooks – The Australian Women’s Weekly Best Ever Collection. There, I discovered the recipe for baked ricotta and olives, and decided to give it a go…
Tomorrow marks the start of autumn in Australia, and although it’ll probably be a good few weeks until it starts feeling like autumn, I can’t wait. A huge part of my desire for milder temperatures, and hopefully, some proper rain is so I can get stuck back into some gardening again…
The other day Adam and I jumped in the car and just drove. We didn’t have a specific route or end destination in mind… we just needed to get out of town for a bit. We’ve both had fairly full-on months and when a day arose when we could just get away for a little while we did…
Can you believe we’re more than halfway through February already? Where is this year going, it feels like it’s genuinely zipping on by.
It’s time to take a look a what’s been making me happy this month…
I’ve been a bit unwell this week, so today I have no blog post for you. I probably could have penned something halfheartedly, but you deserve better than that. So, instead I decided I needed to concentrate on me and making myself better again.
I’m hopeful I’ll feel a bit more like myself over the next few days and things will resume, as normal, on Wattle and Ash next week. As always, thank you for your ongoing support of the blog.
