A week of ups and downs. Of sick babies and thousands and thousands of emails, but also of oh-so-many flowers and a few new books.

Wagga Wagga to Worcestershire & back again
After 12 months of gestating, birthing, recovering and learning to mother, my maternity leave period is coming to an end. This time next week I’ll be sat back at my desk at work and striving to find that sometimes seemingly impossible balance between being a wife and mother, having a career and maintaining a sense of self…

This weekend past I celebrated my first Mother’s Day. I still find it a little hard to believe that this time last year we hadn’t met Paul. He was still tiny little thing, wiggling around in my belly, making me feel really rather unwell. Now he’s seven and half months old, developing a proper personality and bringing so much love and laughter into our family…
Last Christmas Adam and I were given a gift certificate for one of our favourite local restaurants, The Roundabout. We never found the opportunity to treat ourselves to an evening out before the COVID-19 lockdown rules came into play and we both agreed it’d be a nice little treat once the current restrictions were lifted. A few weeks ago though, the restaurant announced it was going to provide a takeaway service so one night last week Adam and I decided we’d have a ‘night out’, in the comfort of our own home…
