The best laid plans sometimes go awry

The best laid plans sometimes go awry

Sometimes things just doesn’t work out like you expected.  I’ve been a little under the weather this week, so the post I planned for today isn’t quite finished. Instead of pushing myself to get it finalised, I’m listening to my body and giving it the rest it needs. I hope you’ll forgive me.

Have a wonderful weekend, I’ll catch you on Monday. x

Something to share: Shetland

Something to share: Shetland

I fell a little bit in love with Scotland when I first visited in 2010 and that was further cemented during a number of holidays there in 2016 (read more here, here and here).  There was just something about the rugged scenery, stone houses and unique accent that really captured my imagination.

As a result I’ve developed a soft soft for books, movies and shows based in Scotland and my current favourite is Shetland…

The morning calm

The morning calm

In 2019 I’m striving to create more moments of calm in my everyday life.  At the start of this year, I stumbled across the concept of a ‘word of the year’ as opposed to making a resolution, and it was something that really resonated with  me.

Something to share: the supermarket rose makeover

Something to share: the supermarket rose makeover

It’s no secret that I love having fresh flowers around the house.  While it’d be dreamy to have a stunning florist designed bouquet sitting on the kitchen table every week, I know my budget just doesn’t quite stretch that far.  Often for me, I’m either picking something out of the garden when it’s in season or treating myself to the occasional purse-friendly bunch from the supermarket.

The other day I stumbled across a video showing how to take one of those $10 bunches of roses you often find while doing your grocery shop and make it something a little more special.  Curious, I decided to give it a go…

Preparing for baby

Preparing for baby

The other day I had a very clarifying moment about the arrival of my baby later this year.  It didn’t occur when I saw bub wriggling around on the screen at my last scan, nor has it happened when I get those familiar flutters in my stomach (and the occasional more definite kick in the belly), reaffirming me that this little human is starting to exercise their ability to move.  For me it actually occurred when Adam and I brought home our first major baby purchase…
