A new year, a new outlook

Diary showing January 2018.

Hello 2018!

It’s a new year and with it comes new goals, expectations and plans. For me it’ll be about readjusting to life after a year abroad, preparing for my upcoming nuptials, creating a home that reflects both my fiancé and I, and discovering and revisiting new and old places in south-western New South Wales.

While last year there was a focus on travel and discovery, this year I anticipate will be more about nesting – design, decor and entertaining at home. I’m really excited to be ‘playing house’ and can’t wait to visit some of the wonderful, local independent retailers who are bringing beautiful things to regional communities.

There will still be trips away, but instead of exotic, international locations I’m looking forward to visiting places in my own backyard and wholeheartedly embracing that wonderful ‘Australian way of life’.

Personally, I’m hoping I’ll continue to explore ‘slow living’ – being more mindful in the day-to-day, ensuring I have a good work/life balance and not getting too caught up in the consumerism culture.  I want to live thoughtfully and I’d like my outlook and possessions to reflect that.

There’s also my wedding and I can’t wait to share the unique challenges and charms planning from abroad brings.

As you can see, this site has also had a bit of a makeover, it’s been something I’ve been thinking about for a while and the first day of the year seemed the right time to act.

I’d also really love to hear from you – what do you want to talk about?!

So here’s a wonderful year ahead.
