A picnic by the river

A picnic by the river

The other week Adam and I took a drive south to Albury, on the New South Wales / Victorian border.  Our purpose was to scout out a baby superstore to start to get our heads around just what we’ll need when our little person arrives in September.

It turned into though, the most wonderful day out – complete with a picnic dinner on the banks of the Murray River…

Spirit of the Land

Spirit of the Land

This weekend past Adam and I went on a fact-finding mission.  Adam’s recently become involved in a project that will see him oversee a tour of an inclusive, disability friendly stage to a number of festivals around region next year.  One of the events the stage will feature at is Lockhart’s Spirit of the Land festival.  So to get a better understanding of the festival and scope out potential locations for the stage, we decided to go along and check it out for ourselves…

Both Adam and I were at the tail end of an exceptionally busy couple of weeks at work and we’d both just recovered from head-colds. Instead of hunkering down at home for a few days, we decided to make the most of the bonus day and treat ourselves to a long-weekend away.

I found a lovely bed and breakfast in Beechworth, Victoria – a charming, historic town about two hours drive from Wagga Wagga.  We made a reservation, and on Friday we headed south…
