Adam and I fly out this weekend for our wedding in England. We’ll be away for four weeks and while we’re both excited about our big day, we’re also thrilled to be heading back to Worcestershire to see friends and family and just spend time in our ‘English home’.
I like to take my time when I’m packing for a lengthy holiday: writing out an initial packing list, then mulling over it and refining it, so I’ve made sure I’ve got everything I need. Like previous trips, I always try and put together a mini capsule wardrobe – a small collection of good quality basics that I can mix and match easily…
Obviously it’s important to take into consideration what you’ll be doing on your holiday, what the weather will be like and whether you’ll have access to a laundry.
Apart from the wedding (which comes with its own special packing list!) we’ll be spending plenty of time hanging out with family at home, stopping by our favourite cafes and shops, visiting a few tourist attractions, heading out for cozy pub dinners and spending plenty of time out in the countryside on long rambles.
At this stage, the weather for the first week of our stay looks likely to be rainy, with cool nights and daytime temperatures hitting the low teens (5ºc – 11ºc).
We’re splitting our time between staying with family and being in a rented flat, and we’ll have access to a washing machine and dryer for the duration of our stay.
