Have you ever walked into a space, whether it be a restaurant, café or bar, and just instantly fallen in love with the design, aesthetic and look of it?
That happened to me a few months back in South Africa, while Adam and I were visiting the Western Cape’s wine country.
Maison Estate was our first stop of the day and it completely blew me away…
From the moment we pulled up, I knew I’d like this place. Old buildings had been given a modern overhaul. There was this lovely mix of rustic charm and minimalistic class. The muted colour palette of whites, greys and tans also appealed to me instantly.
Adam and I sat down on the winery’s Chef’s Warehouse where we sampled a selection of reds and whites. Maison does a lot with Shiraz- our favourite wine, so we thoroughly enjoyed chatting with the staff on hand about the wine making process.
We took a stroll around the grounds and were blown away with views of the surrounding Huguenot Valley. It was beautiful.
Unfortunately, as it was the first stop of the day and we’d just eaten a large breakfast, we didn’t order any food on site. However I’m still dreaming about the gorgeous dining rooms, both inside and out, that were at Maison.
The look of the whole place has really resonated it with me and I’m using its sleek, modern feel, full of natural fibres, as inspiration in my own home now.
What are some of the ‘beautiful spaces’ you’ve visited?
Have a wonderful week. x
This really is a beautiful space. I looove houses with corrugated iron roofs, it looks so rustic and simple. xx
