One of the things I love about the online world we now exist in, is its ability to connect us to people, places and things we might not normally come across. Last month whilst birthday shopping for Adam, I stumbled across Annie Brougham’s Instagram page. I instantly fell in love with her beautiful flora and fauna illustrations and knew Adam would too, so I placed an order…
Annie, who’s based in the South Wales county of Pembrokeshire, has a distinct style, that’s both modern and whimsical at the same time. I had a feeling her illustrated prints would provide a nostalgic reminder for Adam of life in the U.K.
My package arrived in Australia from Wales a little over a week after I ordered and it was such a delight to open it. The prints were beautifully wrapped and Annie included a personalised, hand-written thank-you card, which was such a sweet touch and a wonderful reminder of just how much love small business owners put into their work. There was even an extra postcard thrown in too, which was an added bonus.
The three prints I selected for Adam were a hedgehog, badger and a bluebell – favourite animals and a flower that’s got special significance in his hometown in Worcestershire. Adam was absolutely thrilled with the gift and now he’s just deciding where he’d like the illustrations to live.
Annie also sells beautiful cards and stationery, does lettering on place cards and design work. If you’re after some gorgeous paper goods I’d highly recommend taking a peek at her website. I’ve got a feeling I’m going to be a repeat customer.
Have a wonderful week.
